Rebecca Louise Dixon, 49, of Hollis, NH died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on March 21, 1969 in Burlington, VT she was the daughter of Charles W. and the late Lois Marilyn Dixon of Jericho, VT.

Becky was a graduate of Mount Mansfield Union High school and the University of Vermont with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Performance Music. She was a talented and creative musician and a member of many orchestras and ensembles, to include the Hollis Town Band and the Merrimack Valley Philharmonic. She was particularly proud the Monument Square Brass Quintet, which she founded and directed. The joy she received from music cannot be overstated.

She was Coordinator of College Ceremonies and Events at Keene State College, a position she had held since 2015. Prior to her time at Keene she had held similar positions in North Carolina and California. She also held the position of Executive
Director and Events Manager of Great American Downtown in Nashua, NH.

Becky is survived by a daughter, Sydney Van Gilder and son, Caleb Van Gilder; a brother, Donald Dixon and his wife, Alecia Dixon of Georgia, VT, and two nephews Mason Dixon of Burlington, VT and Skyler Dixon of Williston, VT; also by her companion David Caputo, of Nashua, NH, and two very special friends, Ali Manning of Groton, MA, and Karen Desso McDonald, whom she’s known since childhood, of Gorham, ME. The continual presence of Ali and Karen provided an immeasurable level of comfort and support to Becky and her family during her final days.

SERVICES: There will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A Celebration of Remembrance will be held at a later date. Donations in Becky’s name can be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of Greater Nashua.

We are so saddened to hear of the loss of Becky. Both of us enjoyed many musical moments with Becky, both at Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra and Monument Square Brass Quintet. She always presented a bright smile along with her musical talents. Ed & Linda (True) Stromski
