Joseph Rapalje, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 8th at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born on March 1, 1939 in Arlington VA, the son of the late Robert and Frances (Huntington) Rapalje. Joe earned his undergraduate degree from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Psychology from Boston University. He worked as a School Psychologist in the Sunapee School District for many years. Prior to that, his career was a professor at Eastern Nazarene College.

He was a world traveler and loved “all things food”. He also enjoyed the quieter moments in life up in New Hampshire with his late wife Sheila Therou Stryker Rapalje. The last three years of his life he attended The Community Chapel in Nashua, NH whenever he was able.
Joe leaves behind his first wife Muriel Gordon Rapalje, and his three children Brian Rapalje, Randy Rapalje and Joanna Rapalje Fitzgerald and her husband Michael. He leaves behind four beautiful grandchildren, Justina, Matthew, Noah, and Olivia. Joe also leaves behind his sister “Bobbi” and her husband Paul Shanahan and his brother Jimmy Rapalje and wife Karla. He also leaves behind many other loving extended family and friends.
Services: All are welcome to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 11 AM at Community Chapel Church of Nazarene, 5 Saint Laurent Street, Nashua NH.
