James Murphy Green, 70 of York Maine and formerly of Nashua, NH died Wednesday December 12, 2018 at York General Hospital, York, ME.

Born February 22, 1948 in Paris, TX he was the son of the late Phillip and Maxine (Carter) Green.

Prior to retirement, James led a long and successful career in the car business, primarily as a sales manager at Peters Auto Center in Nashua.

James was a sports enthusiast and loved watching football, basketball, and baseball. Golf was one of his fondest pastimes, and he said that his golfing “got better after retirement.” He enjoyed a good game of poker, or blackjack, and was always up for a friendly wager. He loved playing pinball with his son and grandchildren, as well as taking them to the beaches in Maine. James had a warm and outgoing personality, and everyone who knew him has at least one great “Jim Green” story to tell. His caring and generous nature gave him a wide circle of friends; he will be deeply missed, and remembered fondly by many.

Survivors include James’ longtime companion, Susan Ferguson, of York, ME; one son, Adam Green and his wife, Lorien, of Nashua; one daughter, Taylor Green, of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, Madeline and Colin, of Nashua; two brothers, Alex Green, of Iowa and Biff Green, of Wichita, KS.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm with Words of Remembrance beginning at 3:30 at The Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. (603) 883-3401. “ONE MEMORY LIGHTS ANOTHER”.

Offering my heartfelt condolences to the Green family. Jimmy was an amazing person and I will always cherish the memories of all of our many rounds of golf and miss his ready smile and humor. Rest In Peace Jimmy, you will dearly missed.

Jimmy and I ‘clicked’ when we first met in 1977 at Peter’s Honda in Nashua. I worked for American Honda for many years and even after I left the company Jimmy and I stayed in touch via phone, text and email. I was fortunate enough to attend his retirement bash a few years ago. He was truly one of the most caring, funny, talented and decent men I’ve ever known. I never heard him say a disparaging word about anyone and, while so many of us grieve his sudden loss, his legacy of caring for others while bringing them laughter will live on.

My day stopped, when I got the news Wednesday of your passing. You lived life to the fullest, yet were cheated out of many years with Sue, and your children you always talked about. You brought joy, and wisdom to my life, and I'm sure to many others you touched over the years. I was truly blessed to have worked with you, and got to know you over the years. Taylor and Adam you had a very special dad, that was loved by many and will never be forgotten. I can not imagine what your going through. However heaven is in for one heck of a surprise, when he walks through the gates.
