Obituary for Andrew T. "Andy" Eliopoulos

Andrew T. Eliopoulos, born April 16, 1963, in Akron, Ohio. Andy unexpectedly passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, cycling through the hills of New Hampshire and Massachusetts while training for the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). A devoted husband and father; Andy married Lisa Kasmarek August 31, 1986. During their wonderful 28 years together, they raised three daughters, Annabelle, Genevieve, and Cecilia. Andy was incredibly proud of his girls and loved spending time with them.

A cancer survivor of 14 years and an avid cyclist, Andy was the Captain of the Nashua Rides for Hope team, which raised over $1.6 million for the Jimmy Fund. Riding in his first PMC one year after treatment, he believed strongly that survivors should contribute to finding a cure.

Andy graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in electrical engineering. Upon graduation, he began his career in Melbourne Beach, Florida before moving to the technology center of New England. Andy was the Corporate VP of Research & Development at Cadence Design Systems, in his role he was a dedicated and inspiring leader who travelled extensively around the globe.

Andy possessed a remarkable sense of humor and humility; he was an extraordinary chef, exceptional conversationalist, coach of all sports, and the king of back yard bon fires. Andy, spirited and loved by all, was an incredible husband, father, friend, and hero. His wisdom, guidance, sense of humor, and love will be greatly missed.

Preceded by his mother, Donna Eliopoulos; mother in law and father in law, Faith and William Kasmarek; he is survived by his wife Lisa, daughters Annabelle, Genevieve, and Cecilia; father Thomas Eliopoulos; siblings and their spouses Demetra and James Gulick, Ed and Cynthia Eliopoulos, Chris and Kristin Eliopoulos, Patricia Kasmarek, Barbara and Kurt Kollert; nieces and nephews Nick Gulick, Alex and Julie Gulick, Lauren Eliopoulos, Alyssa Eliopoulos, Alexandra Eliopoulos, and Athan Eliopoulos.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Trisagion service will be at 7:30.
